Vikings wide receiver Sidney Rice was absent thursday from practice after tweakin the injury on Wednesday, Rice was unable to take the field. He has 18 receptions for 212 yards and has caught two of the team's five touchdown passes this year. WR Bobby Wade was limited in last week's game against San Diego because of a hyperextended knee, and he has also has been limited in practice again this week.
Wide receiver Troy Williamson is on track to play against the Packers after missing the last game while he was in South Carolina mourning the death of his grandmother. Williamson's older brother also has been in and out of coma after a car accident nearly 2 months ago, and the seventh overall selection from the 2005 draft said he wished he could have spent more time with his family.
The Vikings withheld Williamson's last paycheck for what coach Brad Childress called business principles.
"It's not a matter of 'excused.' He had a family obligation," Childress said, "He had to do what he had to do, and everybody handles that differently."
Left tackle Bryant McKinnie was back at practice Thursday after missing Wednesday's workout because of inflammation in his knee, but he was limited. He should be ready for sunday.
